Our team outside the Barwon Learning Centre

We have been receiving daily updates from our team on the North West Mission Trip as they have been living and serving in the Moree community from 5-12 October.

This trip is a much anticipated event, with so much preparation, time and effort going into a jam-packed week of service.

Thursday 5 October

RJ students and staff began the North West Mission trip early this morning. Everyone has arrived safely and we are excited for the week ahead - please be praying for our team as we seek to share the good news of Jesus!

Friday 6 October

The team did a final run through of our programs and visited the local Moree community to let the kids know about tomorrow's program. During the afternoon we were invited to a farm where a family from the local church showed us around a working farm and allowed us to use their pool.

Saturday 7 October

Today our team performed the K-2 program and provided lunch for the Moree community. After a very full day we spent the evening enjoy some barefoot bowls!

Sunday 8 October

Today both groups presented their programs to the Sunday school children and to the local community. This was a confronting day as students had their hearts open to the reality of life in Moree. In the evening we joined the local youth group and attended the night church service. During the service a number of students lead worship and Gemma and Jared shared their testimonies.

Monday 9 October

Our mission team visited the Barwon Learning Centre today! We learnt about the local indigenous history and education programs for the at risk kids and how they help keep the culture alive with the young people. We also learnt that the local people are called the Kamilaroi.

Tuesday 10 October

We had some great fun picking oranges and mulberries at a property owned by a family who hosted some of our team for dinner. This is just outside Wee Waa - about 570 kilometres from RJ's Oakhurst Campus!
